Tom has worked as a sculptor for more than four decades. In that time, the Oregon native has carved out pieces of wood, bronze, marble, and stone.
His commissions have encompassed business, residential, and private pieces, and while he does sculpt abstract pieces, he mostly sculpts figurative subjects as he loves to tell a story in depicting them.
Tom loves the diversity of his work and the ability to make it look as if many different artists have created his pieces. He starts off from a creative aspect and then adjusts for functionality later (when needed) to increase the dynamic nature of his work.
Tom received his Bachelor of Arts in Sculpture from the University of Oregon in 1968 and later was the Sculpture Instructor at the Spruill Arts Center from 1996-2018.
