Join us as we celebrate the

150th Anniversary of the

Donaldson-Bannister Farm

In or around 1870, William James Donaldson and his family built a house on a farm at what is now the corner of Chamblee Dunwoody and Vermack roads in the heart of present-day Dunwoody. Owned by the City of Dunwoody and managed by the Dunwoody Preservation Trust (DPT), the property is now listed on the Register of Historic Places as the Donaldson-Bannister Farm and has been a public park and private event venue since opening to the public in 2018. In honor of the farm’s 150th anniversary, the DPT is celebrating the Sesquicentennial in 2020 with a year of events honoring the history of the farm and the families who lived there and kept it going.

The year-long celebration will kick off on January 26 with a ticketed Champagne Concert, an Afternoon Tea on March 1, Descendants’ Day on May 3 and Preservation Celebration on Flag Day, June 14. Other events are planned for the fall.

Each month this year our local schools will be sharing this momentous event with our community.  Thank you Dunwoody Elementary for sharing the news in February!

Our next Sesquicentennial Celebration of the Donaldson-Bannister Farm is an Afternoon Tea Party. Imagine when Millie Donaldson or Louise Bannister had their lady friends over for afternoon tea.  Come enjoy the afternoon at the Farm.  World-renowned Judith McLoughlin will be joining us to share her knowledge of the history of teas and tea etiquette

Thank you.  The Afternoon Tea is Sold Out.

Please join us for future Sesquicentennial Events.
