The barn here was built by Lois Pattillo Bannister when she purchased the property. She built it to house her horses, whom she held a deep affection for. There were plaques next to each horse stall with the horse’s names on them. Originally, the barn consisted of two structures, with the back half having to be destroyed due to termite damage. Now the original barn is connected to a modern building consisting of a multi-purpose room and restrooms. The structure is also home to the Dunwoody Diorama which artistically tells the history of Dunwoody from 8,000 BCE to the present day. The Diorama faces Chamblee-Dunwoody Road.
