Meet our leaders.
James Walker, PhD, Camp Flashback Director
Our founding director, Jim Walker, is returning for our second year. With a doctorate in educational leadership, he has worked as a teacher, assistant principal and principal with the Atlanta Public School System and the Walton County School District. He has been recognized in education for the development of a number of programs in academics, served as Teacher-of-the-Year and been named a lifetime member of the Georgia PTA.
A long-time Dunwoody resident, Gin spent many years as a Boy and Girl Scout leader and volunteer while raising her son and daughter. An experienced elementary school classroom teacher and administrator, she currently works as a family history researcher and archivist, a personal publisher and photo organizer. Gin recently used her skills to develop Dunwoody Preservation Trust’s school field trip curriculum. Her hobbies include many traditional activities including crafting and quilting.
Annie enjoyed Camp Flashback so much last year she came back. A lifelong resident of Dunwoody and a graduate of Chamblee High School, she has a keen interest in learning and teaching the wonderful history of Dunwoody. Annie is currently a student at Georgia State University. Because she is certified in both First Aid and CPR, she is an extra safety resource for our campers.
Also returning for her second year with Camp Flashback, Stephanie was previously a teacher at Kingsley Elementary School in Dunwoody. She also works with children in a non-academic environment as a counselor at the MJCCA Club J, the largest after-school program in Dunwoody. Her unique combination of academic and recreational skills helps her understand how kids learn and play.
Suzanne Huff, Executive Director, Dunwoody Preservation Trust
While not quite a native, Suzanne has lived in Dunwoody since she was in elementary school and raised her two daughters here with her husband Dan. Last year, she joined Dunwoody Preservation Trust as executive director and worked with the inaugural year of Camp Flashback. Before joining DPT, she was actively involved with Girl Scouts for 16 years during which she led two troops and served with the Dunwoody Service Unit’s leadership for a number of years. Suzanne is also a Clemson alumni and avid Tiger fan.
